The fact that he doesn't usually work at that velocity until things warm up in June may actually not be a mirage - he apparently put on 17 pounds over the offseason. Didn't notice he looked much bigger in the early camp pictures, but there were only a couple I saw.

Completely missed that - surprised it hadn't generated more discussion around here.

If other teams believe the new bulk is sustainable (and not enhanced) and he's going to stay in that velocity range all year, he may at least become a little easier to move at some point.
 
Hell, at this point I'd have bought the juice for him and pissed in the cup too. We need him to not be a boat anchor on the rotation.
 
Parsons making a bid for a bullpen spot. Looks like O'Day might be a scratch for the OD roster.

OD Pen would be: Viz, Winkler, Carle, Minty Hippo, Freeman, Venters, Biddle plus one more

The competitors for that last spot right now are Sobotka, Jackson and Parsons.

Minter healthy enough for OD? Yet another failure on the FO not to address the pen with veteran lairdship. DD did a bang up job this winter.

O'Day and Venters have seats on the Council of Elders. For true grit, however, Bud Norris would have been perfect.

Wow. O’Day seemed like a cinch for the O-Day roster.
 
Fair to ask why Wilson is not being given more consideration. Age should not be a factor; results should.
