Ray finished the game 3 for 5 with 3 stolen bases. Heck, on one of his stolen bases, he got such a jump that the pitcher just cut the throw to 2nd off at the mound.
 
Would be hard to argue passing on Groome, seems like a legit ace, but.

other than Albies/Swanson and both should be on the 2017 team, there isnt much hitting in the system.
 
Being a resident of Louisville and having seen the Cards first hand multiple times, what do you think the chances of Will Smith being available for us at 40 or 44? His stock has soared this year.

I like will smith. He could be the Braves fresh prince up and coming. Someone who could give us our Independence Day from this horrible offense. Does any one know if there is a hitch in his swing. One thing for sure is that he is one of the bad boys of catching prospects. No concussions to speak of. I think if we Focus our attention on him he could become a legend that helps braves fans in their presuit of happyness. But I am sure someone from the Wild Wild West will snag him.

The way the front office hates offense concerns me. If Lewis is there and they don't pick him and choose a high school pitcher who won't be ready for a minimum of 4 years I will begin to show emotion again. Negative emotion.
 
Having seen Ray multiple times I would be disappointed if we take him with the 3rd pick. I would much rather have Lewis, Groome, or Moniak. Now next year I'm hoping we can make a run for Brendan McKay from UofL

I would be ok with groome. We can get hitting a lot easier than pitching.

Its a bad idea to draft for need; just take the best playing in the eyes of the scouts. If thats Groome - you take Groome; if thats Lewis you take Lewis.

Target offense in trades and FA; but when drafting just take the best player and sort it out later.
