The concept of hate crime is stupid. A crime is a crime. If he murdered 3 white guys, he should get the same charges/punishment as if he murdered 3 muslims.

I couldn't agree more, but the fact of the matter is that for literally centuries those in power often enforced the law differently depending on who was the victim and who was the suspect. This is the sort of thing that happens when those in charge don't do the right thing. If this guy is as guilty as it appears he is, he should be fried or better yet handed over to ISIS for punishment.

I agree to a point, but since hate crimes are more likely to be repeated, I would support a system like they have for sex offenders. Register. Counseling. Red dot. Stuff like that.
