SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 5/13/18: Record day for Riley!

Austin Riley has a legit chance to be the good Troy Glaus, that's a pretty good comp I think

Starting to look like that's a good bet for his upside for sure. Hopefully he can be more of a .270ish hitter rather than .250ish, but Glaus had a career OPS right around .850ish and was a pretty special player before age and injuries got to him. We'd be sitting pretty if Riley turns into that.

Kiley was saying in his chat that Riley would be a .260-.270 guy with 25-30 homers and fringey to average defense. We’ll see.

I'd like to see what Allard's stuff has looked like recently. Any reports out there? If he is back up in the 90s then I think we are fine.

GM Alex Anthopoulos seem to imply a week ago that he thinks Kolby Allard is almost ready. So if needed I think we may see him too at some point.

Great game by him and Riley today. Riley had a career game, just outstanding.

We probably won’t have an answer to whether Allard’s stuff will play until he’s in the majors.

He doesn't have a plus fastball, so control and mixture will have to carry him. Thing that worries me a bit about Allard is that he skews slightly toward being a fly ball pitcher and that might not be a good look for him.
