SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 7/9 ... Albers wins 8th for Gwinnett

"Mike Soroka 93-95 with heavy bottom, missed a bat with the changeup (mainly due to location), slider is hard, upper-80s." @longenhagen

Pretty solid review from Enscheff's favorite scout.

is that available in the south

As long as all those country bumpkins have a big tv and plenty of channels, they will be convinced they are middle class despite having no real wealth to their names. If they are convinced they are middle class, they can be convinced by the wealthy that the people even more poor than them are the problem with the economy.

So yes, everyone in the south probably had that channel.

It's OK to start getting excited about Alex Jackson again. Second homer in as many days.

About that jumping off Alex Jackson train....

Now 2 homers today and 13 for the season in about a third of the games in a season.

This kid will probably be in AA next season and could be a big time riser in the system.

lol you guys are consistently inconsistent. Every good or bad stretch of 2-3 games has you on and off the bandwagon.

Pike...

4.1 ip. 3 h 0 er 3 bb 9 k

At AA, he's pitched 22.0 ip and K'd 29. Unfortunately, he's walked 23

Which is why I actually go to the games. There will be 0-4 box scores where each ball is hit right at someone and it affects a BA...or a hit and blast changes the outcome for a pitcher. Hard not to box score watch but I've seen very good stuff all year. I believe in the hit tool which had/has everyone worried about Jackson. We will see...I'm overall happy.

he's been hitting since he got sent back down...i seem to be his last fan around here

I like Ruiz as well. Too many folks seem to think performance at the big league level should be seamless from what a guy was doing in the minors. Ruiz is only 23 and has stair-stepped through the minors right on schedule. I also like that they have given him a few innings at 1B with the Freeman at 3B experiment.

Alex Jackson now hitting .285 with 13 HR. Austin Riley hitting .255 with 12 HR.

Derian Cruz now hitting .300 at Danville. Izzy Wilson hitting .233 with 3 HR at Danville.

Muller has given up 7 ER in 18 2/3 innings while striking out 19 and walking 8. 3.38 ERA.

Truthfully, I'm more worried about Riley. Jackson will be fine. TD has played like crap, but we got him for not much, so oh well. I never saw him as more than a bench guy.

Knock wood, but Isranel Wilson appears to have made some adjustments that are helping his performance. K-rate is still hovering around 25%, but that's better than it has been in previous seasons. Repeating Danville, but he skipped the DSL altogether after signing. Still only 19.

I'm not sure about park effects, but when I saw a game in Kissimmee this spring I noted how huge their ballpark dimensions are. It's the biggest pro park I've seen outside of Coors. I'm impressed that two guys have double digit HR's on that team.
