SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 8/1/21: Wright's Best Game Ever?

I don't get where the 37% comes in. He is probably closer to 33.5% for his full AAA stint. And as has been documented here by another poster (can't remember their name) Waters started hot, got hurt (look at those June numbers) and is now hitting the ball again. Lets see where he ends up by seasons end since there is no chance he takes AB's at the major league level.
He reminds me so much of Jordan Schafer. Mannerisms and all. I'm hoping for more...I see more but I'm not as sure on his hit tool as you. I'd love to be wrong...I am a lot, but like you said..we will see.

SSS applies, but it didn't jump out like I thought it would
Yeah..48 chances isn't a huge sample size. Range was fine, arm fine. Just didn't put anything together offensively and was just there on defense. I can't imagine if that were an issue...lol

I've watched both since rookie ball. If you're just using scouting reports to make a point...then you'll miss the real trajectory of a player. I've given Waters props for his improvement to date, but 'loud' contact is not a barometer for what makes a prospect good. He's always made loud contact...WHEN he's made contact. 37% SO is disastrous no?

I'm stuck on far superior and those same scouting reports have always put Pache ahead. Even a failed mlb stint has Pache ahead of mid season rankings. I really don't care about those as much as I do when I see them play. I used to put their reports here but Meh, I'll let others draw their conclusions. Pache may never hit. I am less enthused about him reaching decent Ender level and still....I'm as high on him as i am Waters. Which doesn't mean anything I guess.

Loud contact was Cody Johnson's calling card. It's really misleading. I've been at Twins' games and when Miguel Sano connects, the crack of the bat really reverberates. Problem is Sano is having big-time contact issues.

Do the current debates of Pache/Waters compared to the previous more positive debates make you willing to sell early on Michael Harris/Jesse Franklin than previously.

I wouldn't say these debates are negative. Spirited...yeah. Matter of preference. I think Harris/Franklin are two different scenarios. I wouldn't sell on either just yet because there is much development left. It may be a 1a and 1b again...but not at this point.

I think it's more about the approach as a whole. Since the beginning of the rebuild, we've all had "untouchable" lists - regardless of who had who on their personal lists, and to an extent it appears that AA had one too.

What the "failures" - to this point - of Pache/Waters/Touki/Wilson/Wright should show us is that there should never be ANYONE labeled as untouchable on any level, and that the willingness to include any prospect in trades should be based solely on the big club's current situation and what you're getting in return.

We'd all hate like *ell to see these kids succeed elsewhere when they started out as Braves, but as much as people hate to hear it flags really do fly forever - and many of us are running shorter on time to see the Braves raise them than we like to admit. Don't misunderstand - I'm completely against shipping them off for rentals when you realize they don't come with any sort of guarantees either, but I hope that after having seen several really highly regarded prospects struggle after the great run of successful ones that AA doesn't hesitate to trade anyone for a true difference-maker moving forward.

I've never been particular high on Pache's bat but then I never thought Riley would have a season as good as the first 3/4 have been. I think he's surpassed what anyone projected.

So for me the stress of trading even faded prospects remains to some degree.

I probably would have tried to use some of these guys to land some well controlled bargains but in fairness most of the guys who would have made sense as candidates for that kind of deal have not been all that.
