SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 8/5 ... Rain aids Rome's 11th straight; Dansby homers

Touki getting victimized by very poor defense and horrible score keeping. a grounder off the 1B glove was ruled a hit.. then another grounder under TD's glove was also a hit.. Whatever. TD is so unimpressive.

Thanks for the update on the scoring.

Minor league stats need to be heavily scrutinized for pitchers. I just don't believe they tell a lot of the story.

Touki getting a hit right now. Has to be frustrated with the poor effort of his defense.

my feed has gone to crap. Haven't gotten to watch much of the inning from Hell for touki. I have seen a few pitches and he is not locating his fastball now. He might be gassed. Not sure. I will say this is the first time really watching TD's defense and I don't see the 'elite' status.. His range is not great.. maybe he is hurting, idk.

Touki was unhittable in the first 3 innings. But just lost it in 4th after some shaky D. Very folty like. He looked frustrated in 4th. again, I lost feed in 5th so I am no good from here on out. I probably see if I can catch one more Acuna AB hopefully.

and touasopoopoo just grounded into double play.. now I am mad.

Every year we need someone who will make that meteoric rise up the minors...This year was Acuna (you could argue Soroka, & Gohara as well) but really Acuna.

I predict next year will be Drew Lugbauer...Dude is on fire right now. Hitting for average, OBP, & power. Don't know what his defense is like but he plays both C & 3B (which happen to be places the Braves need help). I am cautious but I am buying on Drew.

So far this season, the minor league players that look to matter most have taken a giant step forward. With the exception of Fried and TD the minors have stepped up to meet the challenge for the most part.

Could not have asked for a better season.

He's super young. But he was striking out close to 30% of the time in AAA. He wasn't ready to be called up.

Moncada is not a bust. Rookies struggle news at 11.

Certainly not yet. His AAA numbers are the primary indicator of potential issues, IMO, not his MLB numbers so far. The BB rate has been very good, and that has continued in the majors, so that is a positive. And he has maintained a high BABIP in the minors, which should mean he can carry a relatively high K rate and still be productive. But the K rate has been more than relatively high, and he hasn't yet shown near the power he was projected for. So he needs to cut down on the K's while adding power. Tough to do.
