I completely gave up on Travis Demeritte after last year, and he had a brutal start to this season as well. But he has really rebounded.

Just hit his fifth homer of the year, now hitting .252 with a .790 OPS. Walk rate is up to 12% this year, strikeout rate is at 26.9%.

Probably time to give ravin another shot. Here's his Gwinnett numbers...

14.1 ip 5 h 0 er 7 bb 25 k

Rather use him than sims/wisler

We are supposedly bringing up a reliever as the 26th player tomorrow for the doubleheader. Him and Phillips makes sense.

Hitting .312. Really wish the extra base hit total (5) would start creeping up

I think power is the last thing we need to worry about with Riley. As long as he is keeping his average at a decent level then the HRs and doubles will come.

Agreed. The concern is the K rate, which is over 30% at Gwinnett. Woof.

Allard seems to have k rate dropping. 2 k is terrible.

Pache hr is big. I have to believe most scouts who think he will hit. Just think he’s three years out.

If acuna is out I really hope dpete is the guy

But Ks don't matter, right?

Or is that just as far as Acuna's concerned?

When looking at production in MLB it doesn't matter. You are either good or not regardless of your strikeouts. When projecting what players will do it certainly is a factor.

Waters again. Fell down 0-2, fouled off four pitches, then hit his sixth homer of the year.

Rome’s radio guy just tweeted that Waters’ homer had an exit velocity of 111 mph. Wow.

“Drew Waters of the Rome Braves hit a HR tonight 111 MPH He's a lanky teen with a fast bat. That's at least 60 raw power. I had 50/55 on the raw last Summer. He's going to take a sizable leap on my mid-season Sally list because of this.“
