GCL Braves, DSL Braves idle

I'm all in favor of firing the Fire Frogs into the freaking sun. I won't say fire Florida into the freaking sun as some places down there are beautiful, but fire the place the Braves are trying to play advanced A ball into the sun.

per DOB #Braves scratched Kolby Allard from Triple-A start today; not injured or traded, but a strong candidate for spot start with the big club this week.

The Forida DH called off due to unsafe conditions. Seen the term "wet grounds" as the cause over and over again -- in baseball speak, that means the weather was fine but the field was a disaster. Pretty well describes the Florida season.

I posted a similar question on a different minor league results thread, but did the Braves build a new field for the Fire Frogs or is it an older field that is in need of considerable repair in the drainage department for obvious reasons? I would be surprised if the Florida State League didn't come down hard on the Braves or the stadium authority (do the Braves own the Fire Frogs like they do several of their other affiliates or is it locally-operated like Lynchburg and Carolina?) for not maintaining the facilities up to reasonable standards. This is ridiculous.

It’s an old stadium. It’s actually where the Astros had spring training before they moved to south Florida two years ago.

That would just lead to even more delayed games.
