Suntrust Park Begins To Take Shape

Sure, maybe, but any large scale project of this nature that intentionally (per the Cobb Co fathers) disses public transit to the benefit of car culture and the exurbs is going to get a thumbs-down from me. If it's a nice place to watch a game, that'll be great. I doubt I'll notice whatever monotonous monocultural clutter gets built in the background.

It's just a reality of the fanbase. The Braves ticket-buying base is going to drive to the game from the burbs. They can fight that and lose or embrace it and count the money.

And you definitely will notice the sudden ability to arrive at a game early or stay behind after and actually have something to do.

I wanted a stripper's pole down the right field line. For every hanging breaking ball the opposing team throws and our team wiffs on, a stripper comes out on the field and undresses to "you hangem and we bang em" with Nick the Stick. After a baker's dozen, Andruw comes back out onto the field in center and starts throwing dildo's stuffed with $100 bills into the stands. After 20 hanging curveballs, the legendary Chipper Jones comes out to third base and awards one lucky fan a lifetime certificate to eat free at Hooters. And after 50, a rare occurance, Hammerin Hank comes out to the field to honor the Babe of Day.

You try too hard.

I get the geographical reality of the season ticket base. I just think it's a ****ty idea from a design and livability standpoint. I get that it's rational—just don't tell me that I'm going to like it.

For the folks that dig that and live in the immediate area, great. If that something involves alcohol, though, I hope everyone cabs or Ubers. Otherwise it's just encouraging DUI.

Additionally, those people driving in from the suburbs will be subject to gruesome traffic. I mean, imagining people who live North in Marietta/Roswell and beyond trying to get to the ballpark via Cobb Parkway or 75/285 during heavy traffic hours makes me cringe. It's actually going to be easier to get to the stadium from South Atlanta (but none of those poor folk come to games, oops).

Let's also not forget that the Braves are going to have a monopoly on parking decks ... expect to shell out another $25 there ... but, hey, it's a more than worthy price of admission to get to spend 7 hours at MoneyGrab (TM) Village, where you can gorge yourself on $25 pizza hamburgers and slam $10 bottles of Bud Platinum while staring listlessly at the shimmering windows of ComcastMegaOfficeComplexBulding.

Or, alternatively, you could go see a movie or concert ... because you can't do that anywhere else.

What a grand 'destination' !
