Will he hit .300? Will he hit .250? Is it too soon?

No. Probably. No.

My prediction is a vast overreaction to whatever he does. If he doesn't hit the cry babies whosee baseball knoledge is equivalent to a q
10 year old will bitch and moan like never before. If he hits well he will be hyped as the second coming.

Not sure exactly what a .275 AA hitter translates into at the MLB level...225 realistically, at best, for the rest of this year?

It is unbelievably stupid to start his clock right now. He is certainly not ready to play at the MLB level. He has been taking quite a few days off, which isn't exactly encouraging for a 22 year old. They are rushing him because they need to see whether they are "going for it" in 2017 or going to punt again.

I don't think he will perform well at all, but these few weeks of MLB action won't make or break his potential to be a 3-4 WAR guy at SS.

The team isn't going for anything in 2017 or any year in the near future. Swanson doing well or not will not be a deciding factor.

I somewhat doubt that Swanson is actually ready for MLB level right now but I have to think that all of the days off that he has been getting recently are directly related to him being called up tomorrow. I feel like the front office knew that Aybar was going to be traded at some point soon and they want Swanson to be rested and ready to go so that he can perform well and boost attendance/raise expectations for next year.

Crazy. Would have thought Ozzie would be the one first.

Albies was struggling a bit defensively. Plus it makes more sense to wait on Albies since his prime years are a bit later down the road. Braves have control of Swanson through his prime, but not necessarily Albies.

My expectations are low. I expect him to win Rookie of the Year ... this year. Break the record for all star games appeared in and have 100 percent vote to get in the hall of fame in the first vote.

why are so many down on his appearance now? I have no idea. who didn't figure that he and Albies would at least be Sept call ups? He is the SS of the future as far as anyone can see, starting now he only gains valuable experience that hopefully will be a good thing. Do I expect him to hit .300? No, but I expect to see a very good defensive SS with some pop, might not be homer pop but he drives the ball and hits gaps hence the nice double total he has in the minors. I expect around .265 with a few stolen bases, and a OBP of .335. If he does that I will be more than satisfied with his call up.

Just to be clear, calling him up now is no different than having him start on Opening Day in terms of his clock.
