I think Steamer's projections are pretty close to where I"d expect hbim to be as a 22 year old with little professional experience, .240/.300/.360.
Next year he'll start leaving his mark. The thing that "worries" me is his K rate in AA. NOt horrible, but he can't afford to regress from that too much given his good but not great power.
I'm hoping long term he'll be an 11% walk 15% strikeout .200 iso SS with great defense. Would be one hell of a player.

So bringing him up now, instead of September will give us 1 less year of control, correct? If so the decision to not wait until Sept is mind boggling stupid.
No it's the same.
NO!. Now is the same as any time before a few weeks into next season, unless the new CBA changes that date (which many see as likely).
If Albies starts in Atlanta next Spring, their service clocks will likely be the same.

Ok good, scared the crap out of me. In that case, it's probably a little early, but I don't think it will really hurt his development. Just hope that if he has a hot start, it doesn't give the FO any bright ideas about trying to "compete" next year.
