Taking a look at the potential postseason roster

Tomlin has no business being on the postseason roster. You don’t need a mop up man in the postseason, even during a
blowout.

O’Day should make it. Tomlin should stay home. I’m leaning towards only carrying eleven pitchers, with Blevins the odd man out for this series (but standing reserve should the team reach the NLCS).

small sample and all but

O'Day xwOBA .328

Tomlin .315

Julion .323

If you need 2 mop up guys, then the series is probably over anyway. Maybe you need one, but two is terrible roster management.

Mop up guy to me is someone like Walker. Tomlin has been decent, including some high leverage situations. Hard to say how Teheran will do in a relief role, but generally starting pitchers have a better arsenal. Eovaldi was yuge for the Red Sox last year.

In terms of the choices we are making for the pen, the last slot is probably between Tomlin and O'Day. I think it could go either way. But the fact that Tomlin can go multiple innings is a factor in his favor.

Let's go even smaller. Like the chosen one's dick size small.

Take out O'Day's first appearance where he faced one batter with a walk then his xwboa goes down to like .310

It's an interesting decision. O'Day has come on in his last few appearances. I could see him getting the nod over Tomlin or Teheran.

Can someone tell me how each pitcher performed against the Cards this year?

I've been told that bit of data is critical when making these types of decisions.

If that were truly the case, we'd need to leave Folty completely off the roster for the NLDS.
