I didn't realize just how likely the Braves are to earn a very good pick in the 2026 draft. With teams like the Rockies and Nats out of the running, the Braves are currently the 2nd most likely team to get the #1 pick.

I’ve looking at it like a reverse pennant race to keep following the season. I’ve been scoreboard watching with the A’s, Baltimore, Orioles, etc the last couple weeks and rooting for them to win. As a Jaguars/Magic fan, I’m built for this.

Isn't it two years in a row with the #1 pick, then they have to skip down to the 8th pick or some such at best the next draft?

A soft reset this year may be just what we needed. Plenty of money to spend in the offseason and a high draft pick.

It's super confusing, but "teams who draft in the top 6 can’t do so 3 years in a row (teams that pay into revenue sharing can not do so twice in a row) so regardless of how bad Oakland is this year they won’t be picking higher than 10th in the 2025 draft."

That's why the Rockies are picking 10th in 2026. They will be terrible forever.
