Tax Bill

Three families. Three different circumstances. All expected higher taxes from the Armageddon bill, and all are surprised to find out they are getting cuts.

Pretty impressive that the leftist media has convinced the public they were going to get raises. Need to break the shackles.

Regardless of what those families believe, no one is arguing that most will not get tax cuts for the next few years. It's the proportion and distribution that are at issue. The middle and lower end of the equation saw greater tax relief from from Bush's tax cuts and from Obama's ARRA. And the only permanent element in this plan is the corporate cut. That's not even taking into consideration that the repeal of the individual mandate will see a lot of those tax savings offset by higher insurance premiums.

It's a trickle-down plan. If Republicans believe that's best for the country, they should defend it on those terms instead of trying to sell it as a tax cut for working folk.

Yeah, they've done great with that, historically.

Haha

My favorite are the people praising this saying it reminds them of the 80s

Of course Ronald then had to go and raise taxes like 10 times cause of the great tax cuts he passed

According to polls, the majority of the country down NOT believe they are seeing a tax cut. That's a failure of the media, or fake news. I've had to show actually smart liberals why they are wrong at my office.

Now, the rich getting a higher cut? Yeah, that's called math. Which I know is hard.

The funny thing is the ~5% of people who will be seeing increases are actually people that I would consider rich (not uber wealthy but high net worth)

I'll be interested to see how the healthcare industry responds to the repealing of the Obamacare mandate. How much will premiums and deductibles rise with the Republicans cutting out the legs from Obamacare? I might see a tax cut initially but I fully expect to make that up with healthcare related costs. Hope I am wrong.

Welcome to the real world where companies make decisions to better allocate resources. This has nothing to do with the obvious benefitd of this tax bill. Not that you understand or care.

i know you have a hard on for Venezuela

but if you can point to me once where i have ever said we should model ourselves like Venezuela

your dumb point you think you are making would be a better example

Also known as the exact reason why I'm not convinced corporate tax cuts will benefit the people. In reality, I'd count on more investment in technologies designed to make American workers irrelevant and drive profits for the companies.

What do you think has fueled the 2017 rally? Tax cuts have already benefited the people of this country tremendously.

Not every company is going to add jobs. That is not how it works. Any thoughts on the EU getting nervous companies are going ot leave?

He keeps bringing it up because its a real world example of how your economic principles fail. They fail every time.

But that $1k though

Lol

You should check your sources:

https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2017/12/22/at-t-to-layoff-280-people-in-dallas-as-it.html

In an email to the Dallas Business Journal, AT&T spokesperson Marty Richter said that the company is consolidating the call center work into other U.S. facilities. Employees will be given the opportunity to relocate to San Antonio or Earth City, Missouri, with a relocation allowance.

So not only are they still trying to keep workers they are actually planning on paying some that are impacted. But again, why would you care about doing research as long as it fits your narrative. I don't have the time to research all the layoffs but I'm sure this is not the only one structured as the Dallas office. Pathetic.
