Tax Bill

oh yeah, in this thriving economy gasoline has spiked 25% in the past month.

Guessing here that $4 a week gain in "her money" of Paul Ryan's Lancaster County Pa secretary -- is about to be swallowed up.
By, the thriving Trump economy

math some funny stuff s

makes one wonder the nature of the conversations between our annoined representative/envoy and the Saudi Prince.
If only ...

not sure why an lol response -

on it's face claiming credit ( Jan 2017 economic indicators) also leaves one in the path of blame (25% spike of gas prices)

I feel certain the argument is gasoline prices are out of the Presidents purview ?
note the question mark
.....................................

Going out on a limb here, but guessing this doesn't hinder the Koch Brothers getting to work every morning. Or perhaps their kids won't getting that extra book they needed for school

I understand that is an emotional arguement --- but hey ...

growing for who(m) ?
Well for starters... for the least of us - Iraq, Brazil, Venezuela, etc. When oil prices are low people in these countries starve. But of course, you have to pay $4 a more at the pump, so all of a sudden your goodwill sense of self goes out the window.

Let’s also not forget that there are entire states in the US whose economy is entirely driven by the price of oil. But since those jobs don’t belong to people that vote blue, who cares.

But mostly, oil prices typically rise as a response to increased demand unless there’s a shock in the supply line. That demand comes from people buying more goods.

If you want low gas prices I guess we could go back to the Recession when prices were less than $2 a gallon.

Are oil workers in Louisiana getting a pro rated wage increase attached to the rise in gas prices, they pay at the pump ?

when hasn't the demand for gasoline not been high?

How does one go back to a recession ?

This discussion is taking place in the thread dedicated to the tax bill.
Where a good many people are having whatever gains are purported swallowed up
All the while the Trumpians are claiming a great economy -- for investors perhaps. I guess

I lived through Reagan's Voodoo Economics -- trickle down don't trickle.
Evidenced by McDonalds CEO getting a huge raise while workers are marginalized
Evidenced by the weekly gains of the Koch Brothers.
Are they sharing that tax break in a meaning full way?

So I ask you again, a booming economy for who(m)

The tax bill was a scam

Oh my gosh the people who pay the most taxes see the biggest benefit when taxes are cut.

AAHHHHHHH

That's certainly true if marginal rates are reduced across the board. The wisdom of that, at any particular time, is certainly up for debate.

But it's a bit of a misdirection if the tax cuts in question are massively stacked in a way that disproportionally favors the investor class...i.e. capital gains taxes and corporate tax cuts. I get that you think this is as it should be, but at least call a spade a spade.

It's just math.

I don't know why we need a tweet posted every week to remind us that math exists

Just as the left dishonestly talks about the gun control debate (really want to take away guns) they do the same with tax reform. What they really want is massive wealth redistribution.

Paul Ryan just doesn't like it when anyone points how that there's nothing

Christ-like about a tax cut that gives the poorest 20% an average of $5 per month

while the Koch brothers get $53,846,154 a month -- each.

Back to posting math?

Nice that poor people have more money... I believe Pelosi said years ago that's that's a tremendous victory

Conservative snowflake extremely mad that Catholic priest explained

basic theology we learned in Catholic grade school.

At bottom the House chaplain offered a critique not just of the GOP tax bill, but also of Paul Ryan's libertarianism.

The chaplain suggested Ryan's libertarianism is both empirically wrong and at odds with Catholicism:

If Paul Ryan is a Libertarian then we may as well consider everyone a libertarian. Karl Marx? Hardcore Libertarian. Hitler? All about that Libertarianisim.

Wanting to offer people treatment instead of prison for using drugs makes Libertarians monsters I guess. Wanting people to be able to travel freely without an arbitrary government license is evil? Most people only agree we need driver's licenses because we think its about safety. It's not. Maybe this man of god has a problem with the Libertarian idea that flooding the poorest areas with cops who hand out regressive fines for the smallest **** like jaywalking while walking to work is bad. Paul Ryan is all for these things as are many democrats. Ryan isn't even listed as libertarian. Might as well berate Hillarybfor her Green party views. Maybe this paragon of virtue has a problem with the idea that we all have a responsibility to care for and help others and that it's only moral when you give your own money, not when you take others money using the threat of violence to give to others.

show me where in the bible Jesus says "take from one neighbor who has a lot and give to they neighbor who has little"

I also would like to know why I as a poor person with no kids should be penalized for not having kids when it comes to government services.

I think it’s because those government services are more there to support the kids than the adults - at least in theory.
