Yeah, so it would appear, but I still have a little hope that there's something tangible that they saw. Most likely just (important) AAA depth.

We already have quite a few candidates for the AAA rotation: Martin, Thomas, Hursh, Williams Perez, Northcraft, Graham, Rodriguez, Schlosser. Add Wang to the list.

I could see the Braves tryin to get an outfielder for Gattis and signing a starter. Hellickson has injury concerns and we already have Wood and Minor that was hurting at the end of the season so that would be the main reason I would say we're not in on him.

milb.com had Velazquez as the D-Backs #12 prospect and Williams as their #14 prospect. Velazaquez is 20 years old and Williams is 19. Both guys are quite a ways away, but they look like decent prospects.

Both are very high upside guys, high ceilings but also could not pan out. All things considered, pretty good haul for the Rays.
