Teams Calling With Interest In Heyward, Justin Upton, Gattis

Other than Gattis maybe, and perhaps one of Justin or Heyward i dont know what else would happen.

I don't think they will give anyone away, but I think Gattis and J. Upton (and hopefully M. Upton) could both well be moved. I don't think Heyward will be moved unless the team is blown away with an offer.

Not sure what starter they will go after and I know it's a long shot but Jon Lester given he's from Georgia and we need rotation help. Only way I think it could happen is if we trade both Upton and the extra money. Uggla's money is gone next year so it could be back loaded.

If Jason won't take an extension and come back for a few more years, then I say trade him for a large haul. There's no reason we shouldn't get an ass-ton back for him. Get an MLB-ready TOR arm, maybe another BP part, a very good OF. Just go all out.

If we're going to consider trading Gattis and Upton and/or Heyward, we're probably not competing in the next two years. In that case, it almost makes sense to hold onto BJ and ride out the contract, which would allow us to get a much greater return on those 3 players since we won't have to package him.

This is very true. If they decide to unload JUp, Heyward and Gattis for a nice collection of 5+ near-MLB prospects, then it makes sense to let BJ try to figure it out. Who knows, maybe he does and becomes the player he was supposed to be since he was drafted.

If the Braves trade three of their four best hitters, then keep the wrong Upton ... well I'd hardly say that proposition "makes sense".

I know our offense is the big weakness but both DOB and Bowman mentioned our biggest priority is young high upside pitching. It was just speculation but the Cards are looking for power and DOB through Carlos Martinez out there. Not saying straight up but Martinez would be a great pickup for a long term SP

It would explain why they didn't fire Fredi. If you're going to sink the ship and build another, let the captain go down with it.
