A missing point. I don't think Duvall is as bad as we saw...but I also think he needs a consistent starting gig in order to show himself to be decent. Acquiring another cOF renders him useless...we will see.
Agree. There are a lot of guys like Duvall who need to play every day (or almost every day) to be effective and he's at that point in his career (and on a team) where he may not be afforded that luxury.
Grossman is interesting, but his splits show him to be far better as a RHH option than a LHH option, which pretty much makes him Duvall with below average defense.
A lot of other interesting names, but with the signing of Donaldson to play 3B every day, I doubt the Braves look at guys like Solarte. Same with Wilmer Flores. I can remember a Mets' fan who used to post here (and is no longer with us) who was all over Flores as the next big thing, but that hasn't happened.
The key here--at least to me--is that a lot of these guys will get major league contracts and with our 40-man at the limit, we will be out of the running for the better guys on this list. I could see some minor league deals with spring training invites for guys like Cory Gearrin, Xavier Cedeno, and Chris Herrmann. On a side note, is it too late for Bubba Starling to honor his college football commitment to Nebraska?
