Figuratively, a 'dog whistle' is an expression or statement

with a secondary meaning

intended to be understood only by

a particular group of people.

As of this morning pretty sure any of us here could run and win vs DeSantis .

I would say Mr Desantis kicked the proverbial hornets nest.
He really "monkeyed this up"

I was thinking this when I saw the Gillum win. He's a great story and probably a better option than a lot of people that will be elected this year. But that ICE position is both irresponsible and out of touch.

Out of touch ?
South Florida is heavily populated Hispanicly.
The indiscriminate round up of people of color is not going unnoticed.

Gillums demographics are telling a different story.
Please dont forget who he beat to get the nomination and that he is in effect running against a Donald Trump stand in.

Please during this election cycle don't overlook or underestimate the disgust with Trumpian politics.

We are just coming off 8 years of Obama and he had congress for the first 2 years. I dont agree with Obama or Warrens economic policy but dont buy the rights propoganda.

There is really no understating the economic impact of marijuana legalization. The tax revenue generated is a small fraction of the good that will come from this. Millions will no longer be second class citizens who have to take lesser paying jobs because of a marijuana conviction. Its children who not be torn awat fromntheie parent and put in a foster home where they are sexually abused. Those kids grow up to do bad **** and we just call them criminals or bad people and move on with no thought as to how an innocent kid turns into a violent criminal.

Certain elements in this country will have to find or create a new method of social engineering or at least social control if weed gets legalized and hundreds of thousands of otherwise law abiding young people (especially young black men) get released from prison so that hopefully real criminals can get put there instead.

Also, we should all buy some Doritos stock just in case it gets legalized at the federal level. ;)

Wait. You think there’s hundreds of thousands of law abiding young people in jail, solely for weed? Like thier only offense is possession of weed and that’s it?

Even in states where weed is still a crime it’s basically a slap on the wrist if you’re even charged.

575,000 people were charged with marijuana possession only in 2016. They make up 89% of all marijuana arrests. Even if there are not a large number in prison there are still 500-600 thousand people being victimized every year.

The damage of arresting young people does not stop when they are released. They are more likely to become career criminals now with less economic opportunity than other people. Jail and prison only makes them hardened criminals. A whole lot of violent crime can be traced back to mental illness developed from an initial incarceration for marijuana. Prison is a mental illness factory. We arent rehabilitating these people. We are torturing them till they afe crazy ass **** and release them to live on the streets. Next thing tou know they raped or killed someone.

All 6 siblings support the Democrat against their brother (Paul Gosar, Arizona Representative) in video ad for his opponent.

Wow. That's something.

“None of us are doing this for publicity,” David Gosar told the Phoenix New Times on Friday. “None of us even want to do it.”

“It would be difficult to see my brother as anything but a racist,” Grace Gosar says in one of the videos, according to the Phoenix New Times.

David Gosar suggested to the New Times that his brother’s health may be deteriorating.

“He just doesn’t appear to be well,” he told the paper.

Voter enthusiasm/engagement is very high in the new Pew poll,

with 61% of voters saying they're more enthusiastic than usual to vote in the midterms.

This question is usually a pretty good predictor of overall national turnout.

Is there an example of a 2016 (D) voter at any level , national, state or local switching ?

I will be voting D all the way, as a means of protesting the lunacy that has overtaken what used to be my party.

I have thought since the Gingrich Revolution our politics were driven by a (R) civil war.

I think the Libertarian Party of the 21st century is nothing more than (R)'s that aren't being listened to inside of their established party.
Gov Weld being exhibit (A)

Your thoughts ?

People like Weld still exist in public life and I like to think that the reaction against Trump and the Trumpophiles will expand the public space available to people like him. Maybe I am being too optimistic.

US House candidate, CA-22

We’ve heard that Devin Nunes and his campaign are terrified of the prospect of debating a prosecutor.

Per the @FresnoBee: “Democratic challenger Andrew Janz has accepted a variety of invitations

to debate Rep. Devin Nunes, a Republican, but Nunes has yet to accept any requests.”

I really really hope that you are right. I don't know what I'm going to do this mid term. Usually I've split my vote between the GoP and the Libertarians that I really like. Almost 50/50. But I can't stomach voting for the Trumpian GoP and I have exactly one race in my state with a Libertarian candidate. The problem is that you are probably more open to voting Dem than I am. They have moved far too left for me to give most of them my vote, even though I could see myself possibly voting for David Baria. Not a fan of his economics, but I think I could stomach a vote for him.

This might seriously be the first major election night where I stay home
