I live in a town with a pride flags down mainstreet and a giant cross on a mountain. It's almost like if Christians listened to Jesus Christ not Jerry Falwell the US would be a more chill place.

Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill that will nullify local laws mandating

water breaks for construction workers —

despite Texas being first in work-related heat exposure deaths.

Unions expect the number of deaths to go up if

mandated water breaks go away.

water is woke?

a lot of these anti-woke laws turning out to be unconstitutional

i bet a carefully crafted law designed to promote and safeguard the interests of trans kids (including prohibitions on genital surgery before age 18) would pass constitutional muster...but sadly that's not the place these laws are coming from

credit to Governor Hutchinson for vetoing this bill, which he described as a "vast government overreach"...the world needs more principled conservatives like Hutchinson

I'm good with copying the lefts strategy of constantly passing illegal bills and making them have to litigate every single one of them and then face no consequences if they are deemed illegal

i'm glad to see a "libertarian" so enthusiastic about vast government overreach into the domain of sensitive medical care decisions that should be left to parents, their children and their medical care providers

I'm also good with making the left publicly defend the right to mutilate children. As evidenced on this board... they will never be against it

As a libertarian I believe in equal justice of the law. Since that is not our system I'll settle for an even pursuit of political power

And if defending the mutilation of children is what a libertarian is, then I am happy to shed the label

the Arkansas law that was just struck down has little or nothing to do with genital surgery of minors...it bans gender-affirming care under the guise of protecting children from something that doesn't happen in Arkansas

if they just banned genital surgery on minors no one would have standing to file suit...because it don't happen in Arkansas

so this law is not about that...what it is about is as Governor Hutchinson said a "vast government overreach"

which our board libertarian is enthusiastically in favor of while crying wolf about something that doesn't happen in Arkansas

Cool. What is "gender affirming care"

You can't even tell me how many genders there are by the way.
