The Biden Presidency

Right. Dont get mad. Just find another job

Peasants

I suppose you were likewise up in arms when Trump bankrupted thousands of farmers with his useless tariff war on China?

For someone who seems to care about liberties and taking down big govt, you sure seem fine with protecting the industry that has had it's boot on the throat on Americans politics for the last 100 hundred years.

I was pretty vocal in my disdain for the stupid tarrifs and farming subsidies.

Thanks for noticing

Sturg: Forcing thousands of workers to find new jobs in the same field is cruel.

**Government seizes thousands of peoples lands for a pipeline/border wall/etc.

You've literally been praising Trump for not being soft on China.

Trump was a failure with China. His tarrifs were a tax increase on Americans. They were dumb.

My praise of Trump is him trying to do SOMETHING about China, and willing to call them what are. A communist murderous regime that intentionally allowed a virus to escape to take down western economies

But now we are back to business as usual.

But now we are back to business as usual.

It certainly seems we are back to acting like they don't exist.

FWIW, all of the farmers I do business with didn't mind the tariff war because they knew it was long term in their best interests. They are half gamblers too, probably funding gamestop right now.

You do realize there is a ton of overlap in the two fields don't you? I currently work for a chemical plant that makes polysilicon for solar panels and we use pipe fitters on the daily. And right now the US is one of our lowest revenue countries that wee do business with. China is number one.

Last I checked, less than 1% of new constructions (residential or commercial) in the US have solar panels. If the US were to, say, put in regulation requiring more new constructions to have solar panels, it would generate more needs for companies like mine and create a vast amount of new jobs for these people in the oil and gas industry.

And make home prices unrealistic for even more of the population, just like the pedestrian safety and emissions regulations have done to car prices.

Farmers were fine with it cause they knew they would get sweet ole socialism to help keep them afloat for their losses

Not really.

They still need to sell their products. They have insurance for losses to the crop though.

They get direct payments for working the land though. Grants too

But did he do that?

“One of the many great things about our just signed giant Trade Deal with China is that it will bring both the USA & China closer together in so many other ways. Terrific working with President Xi, a man who truly loves his country. Much more to come!”

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

"I just spoke to President Xi last night, and, you know, we're working on the — the problem, the virus. It's a — it's a very tough situation. But I think he's going to handle it. I think he's handled it really well. We're helping wherever we can."

“Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days … Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!

How long did it take for Trump to acknowledge the Uyghur genocide?

Us "libs" were talking about it a year before Trump condemned them

And with respect to Hong Kong we have this:

Worst of all has been the performance of President Trump, who has repeatedly made statements siding with Mr. Xi. In July, he declared that the Communist ruler had handled the protests “very responsibly” because “he has allowed that to go on for a long time.” A couple of weeks later, he called the demonstrations “riots” and mused that China might “want to stop that” before flashing a green light: “But that’s between Hong Kong and that’s between China, because Hong Kong is a part of China.”

He basically kowtowed to Xi with respect to the Uighurs and Hong Kong.

Other presidents were not afraid to meet with the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama's advancing years may have curtailed his foreign travel schedule, but the spiritual leader says he hasn't received a call from Mr Trump either.

In a scathing assessment, he said the 45th president's time in office was defined by a "lack of moral principle", a contrast to remarks made in 2016 when he said he had "no worries" about a Trump presidency.
