The Overflow Facility Formerly Known As Cages

I agree with the sentiment. It's poor journalism to change the narrative now. They do note in the article they have to rely on these same Trump policies until they can take the steps to reverse the policy, but either they're cages then and now or they were never cages at all.
I still don't understand why we're willing to throw 10 billion at a useless wall, but won't spend the money to hire more workers and build better facilities to handle the influx of illegal immigrants. You create jobs while also managing to be a better humanitarian.

Honestly, why give any former Presidents intelligence briefings? They are almost certainly not experts on any security matter, and probably aren’t in charge of doing anything that would impact national security. I can see having former intelligence heads receive briefings to stay current while helping provide context on former issues, but not Presidents, unless there is some very specific situation they need to collaborate on.
It's a courtesy to people who have earned some respect and might be called upon for advice. When you have a norm-busting security risk, you bust the norms.
It’s an absolutely unnecessary courtesy. There’s no way former Presidents will have more useful insights than the experts providing the information in 99% of cases.
