Haven’t followed the news much today, but seems like one side is mad that a

staffer called Republicans a bunch of ****ers,

and that a First Lady with a PhD calls herself doctor,

and the other side is mad that the president is ignoring the pandemic and overturning the election

couldn'ta said it better
sure are some clever people out there
guess we should all get re-used to the Faux Scandal of the Day

things like the color of suits or the number of states or vegetable gardens or, cries and blabbering's of tyranny over mask requirements during a pandemic for the stupid ****s that have little to no respect for their fellow citizens
Or never really understood the meaning of, tyranny

WASHINGTON — President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. has chosen Representative Deb Haaland, Democrat of New Mexico, to lead the Interior Department, according to people familiar with the decision, a move that would make history: If confirmed by the Senate, she would be the first Native American appointed to a cabinet secretary position.

Ms. Haaland would not only head the federal agency most responsible for the well-being of the nation’s 1.9 million Indigenous people, but also would play a central role in implementing Mr. Biden’s ambitious environmental and climate change agenda. As head of the agency that oversees 500 million acres of public lands, including national parks, oil and gas drilling sites, and endangered species habitat, she would be entrusted to restore federal protections to vast swathes of land and water that the Trump administration has opened up to drilling, mining, logging and construction.

In addition, she would oversee the Bureau of Indian Education and the Bureau of Trust Funds Administration, which manages the financial assets of American Indians held in trust.

She is half-Norwegian and possibly related to this guy.

i know he was elected by the American people and all that jazz but if we are going to ask the qualifications question, I would start with this guy...i might add that my own biases are in favor of experience, accomplishment and credentials...which is one of many reasons i wasn't too impressed by very poorly chosen one and many of the people who ended up surrounding him

anyone remember Ryan Zinke...there are some uncanny parallels with Haaland...failed candidate for lieutenant governor of a small state...a couple terms in the House...oh but he was part of a fraudulent scheme pitching fake technology devices...that's a new one...interesting qualification

i don't want Zinke to be the bar for Interior Secretary...maybe someone more distinguished like James Watt....anyone old enough to remember him?...Nancy defenestrated him because he said something silly about the Beach Boys

Oh wow. Zinke had a radio show where he promoted birtherism among other things. Didn't know that. I'm gonna miss having a cabinet with people like that.

I don't believe I was around here for either of those appointments. Were articles celebrating the historic impact of the appointments shared? Did we have posters declaring brav F'n O?

well...it is historic in that sense...her qualifications are not too different than guys like Zinke (and certainly she seems free of some of the shadier activities he was involved in)...which means she probably won't be chartering very expensive flights and helicopter rides for official travel the way he did or going for expensive office upgrades...Zinke also accepted free housing from people...never mind that was Scott Pruitt...i get them confused sometimes

to my mind ethnicity goes a long way here.
Kinda good idea having a Native American overseeing -- Native American affairs.

Her other qualification ?
she isn't on the fossil fuel payroll
She isn't in quarantine
had Biden announced anyone short of Zinke , Dr Ben Carson or Watt, MAGA would disapprove.

I am withholding judgement until she orders a desk

so republicans have already been outraged by a phd calling herself doctor and by being called ****ers by a chief of staff. i cannot wait to see what else they get outraged about.
