The Biden Presidency

At this point would it be that surprising to see both McConnell and McCarthy get primaried with Trump support? He is already calling McConnell gutless and clueless, and now McCarthy- after pretty harshly decrying Trump after Jan 6- has come out and said no one is questioning the validity of the election, which we know won't sit well.

Don't think McConnell will be running for another term. But McCarthy was very bold and brave today to say that he met with President Biden. It's the kind of thing that might set off very poorly chosen one.

You’d have to lay out a plan which shows me that the majority of the country gets a similar benefit.

As you know my economic views have changed considerably the past few years. I think the underlying issue is the multi national corporation. While they still exist in their dominant form I’ll support measures to find a way to ensure that wealth is not consolidating further.

But I’d have UBI replace welfare so I’m not sure how much extra to the budget it would cause.

It would be vastly more efficient because of the many government bureaucracies that it would eliminate, which is why it would never replace them. Government never chooses to reduce its own size or power.

Excellent point.

Now we can be safely assured that UBI will never be here as a fixture. That’s a shame.

Not sure if you’ve missed it but the old republican guard is gone.

I will not hold my breath on that one.

Both parties’ leadership are beholden to capital. Democrats seem to be trying to half-ass slap a couple of bandaids on a massive hemorrhage. Republicans are...talking about cancel culture and holding the line on every traditional economic issue. Not really inspiring a lot of confidence that they’re going to turn that particular battleship around. They’re nowhere near exhausting bull**** culture war appeals.

Showing impotence to your rivals and giving them further incentive to smack you around is hardly good news. Energy actually is infrastructure.

Ok so what you're proposing is this company should have taken huge losses so they don't look like cucks to "rivals"

No, the company did what they had to do. It's not their job or right to battle foreign attackers, that falls on the national cyber forces. Those have also become an important part of infrastructure in need of investment.

I agree, we've done nothing to further cyber security in years. And they should improve it. Instead we rely on the private sector to do it and they mostly do a good job, but obviously big gaping holes exist, especially when countering state sponsored hacking.

After an abysmal jobs report, rapid inflation, horrible war in the ME which he has helped fund, multi-state gasoline shortages, and the boarder crisis ongoing...

It's not that surprising to me that we have a rush of evolving positive messaging on covid and getting peoples lives back

Every single institution has been corrupted by the progressives fundamentalism. Absolutely nothing should be trusted at this time.
