The Biden Presidency

Biden has repeatedly acted as if he takes responsibility while simultaneously explaining why he's totally blameless. It's quite annoying to watch.

Also, why does everyone keep comparing how Biden has handled this with how Trump would have done or what Trump did? Biden's entire campaign was that he's not Trump. Isn't setting the bar at him being better than Trump just setting it insanely low? Isn't the fact that there's legitimate debate about whether Trump would have handled this better good evidence that Biden has committed some pretty bad blunders?

The reality is indefensible, so they use assumed evidence from some hypothetical scenario as their defense instead.

I was reliably lectured that inflation was no concern

The same lecturer wants to print endless cash in the pursuit of zero-covid

THe US handled this evacuation poorly. There's no denying it. But the Trumpkins clutching their pearls after applauding trump for pulling out the troops is amusing to me. People act like this wasn't Trump's fault. It was. He let the Taliban build up this level of power and signed a deal basically giving them the keys to the house for the promise of no terrorists which is hilarious.

Personally I assume this is set up for the War Hawks to go back into Afghanistan in a few years tops. My guess this time the MIC will do it via China next time.

The D’s don’t care about the other side though. Not their colleague across the aisle, but the voters on the other side. The military and police favor the right side over the left. Therefore under this administration they are hung out to dry.

We really do have the three amigos now lol

It's August. That whole idea of Trump setting him up for failure would have worked if something immediate had gone wrong where Biden didn't have a chance to change plans. Like the previous administration's vaccine rollout.

August. 8 months to say, gee, we should get some folks out now. Or, hey, we're gonna need more troops. We know it was plenty of time, because when this trainwreck proved it was way off the rails, evacuation got cranked up to a rapid pace, and several thousand troops showed up. That all took a couple of days. He had 8 months.

Seth Moulton saw things during his trip to Afghanistan that were “truly out of this world.” He spent about 15 hours on Tuesday at the airport in the capital city of Kabul, the epicenter of America’s messy withdrawal from the nearly 20-year war there. The Massachusetts congressman described the scene as “the most visceral, raw view of humanity that I will probably ever see in my life,” with “thousands upon thousands” of refugees camped out and “desperate” to fly out of the country, which was overtaken by fundamentalist Taliban forces. The experience left Moulton more convinced than ever that President Joe Biden made grave mistakes in his handling of the exit.

Moulton was on his way back from Kabul in the wee hours of Thursday morning when he spoke to New York about the trip, during a layover in Madrid.

“The thing that everybody needs to understand, even if you completely agree with the Biden administration’s decision to withdraw, the way they have handled this has been a total f***ing disaster,” said Moulton, who traveled to the country with Representative Peter Meijer, a Republican from Michigan. “It will be measured in bodies, because a lot of people are dying because they can’t get out.”

I think Moulton's wrong. It wont be measured in bodies because we'll never know the body count. The Taliban will make sure of that. We'll only know it's a blood bath.
