The truth is you can make a lot of the same justifications for a parent to have the right to euthanize a disabled child. Having to raise a disabled child is expensive. It's an enormous burden for our lowest income people to bear. Allowing these people to euthanize their disabled children is an act of love as it prevents the child from having to live a life in poverty and it frees the parent to improve their situation.

Why is euthanizing a disabled child abhorrent while abortion is fine with these people? It's because they assign personhood to the disabled child but not the fetus. But why they do that is not adequately justified. It's a personal choice based on their own feelings and beliefs and that's perfectly fine. But stop acting like your initial assumption that a fetus is not a person is objectively right and not a personal choice.

The same is true of those railing against abortion as murder. They've assumed the fetus has the status the same as any person. That is also a personal choice based on their own feelings and beliefs. They then act as if that is objectively true and spit venom about it.

I just once want to see a debate about the philosophical question of the legal and moral status of a fetus.

If you chose to you could surrender a disabled child without further involvement while with a fetus you are demanding further expectations. I’m not advocating for that but it is an option. Forcing a mother to carry a child is society forcing a burden.

Birth is a logical line. Personally for me understanding that something is going on is what really makes a difference.

That presumption involves saying you have to be accountable for sex and have done something wrong. That kind of logic is really why I absolutely loathe social conservatives. At the end of the day they’re backwards prudes who can’t stay out of other peoples’ business.

The person having sex knows what could happen when you have unprotected sex.

If you don't want a baby you shouldn't be having unprotected sex.

If your ultimate decision is to have an abortion then yes you did something wrong originally.

I'm glad that you loathe people like me. I wouldn't want to be associated with anyone that thinks its ok to kill babies because adults are irresponsible.

An abortion should be of more consequence than just oh well, I'll get an abortion. Maybe after the 2nd one, mandatory sterilization.

And if a man gets so far behind on child support, same deal for him.

I've known some that chose to. They've all either become militantly pro life or had multiple abortions.

none are "militantly pro life", all are still adamantly pro choice still, all except one is a mom with at least one child and the only one that isn't yet is due to have her daughter in January
