I think until we gain traction on a true 3+ party system and put pressure on elected officials to respond to the will of the voters that this will remain the case. Voting Republican because I think Biden is useless presently means resigning myself to accept outcomes I don’t feel like accepting. If that makes me a sheep, so be it. I don’t want it to all be this way, but it just is.

Again on COVID, there are things you either believe or don’t believe in. Arguing whether or not we’re doing worse on COVID just doesn’t appeal to me right now because I don’t have the answers.

I’ve expressed my thoughts on the domestic terror unit, but to reiterate: domestic terror is the most common form we encounter by far. While I still disagree with giving them too broad of powers and think we need to be careful in how we define domestic terrorism, I don’t think the implementation alone is problematic.

In terms of killing the filibuster, I’m a bit torn and not just because it’s my “team” wanting to do it. I do genuinely wonder if the obstructionism of the minority side for the past couple decades makes the filibuster untenable. I still worry about the potential downsides of either side getting to do as they wish while they’re in power, but I’m not sure the current system is functioning any better.

I don’t think that’s true. He hasn’t taken a good tone, but he’s not worse than Trump in that respect.

If you cannot see how divisive Biden has become in a very aggressive way, you are truly lost. Its truly freeing when you can admit both Trump and Biden have been disasters but you will remain blind because you choose not to see.

I mean to me the tone is better than the messaging on most items. That’s a moderate Dem quoting him in that tweet too.

Trump was just calling out the truth and the establishment resented him for it. Your perception on trump is so heavily impacted by the media coverage of him and fake stories released daily.
 
Is it better to lie about your civil rights work to such an extent and have to withdraw from your first presidential election because of it, or to enact legislation that put thousands of black people in jail for walking around….

I’m not saying we’ve “returned to civility” under Biden so far. I think you’re forgetting some of Trump’s antics. Trump basically treated any of his critics as wrestling heels, disparaged them constantly and even paused at his rallies to let his supporters boo them. He was more open and cartoonish about it, but he definitely wasn’t any better than Biden has been in this regard.

I think you're forgetting the whole establishment lied constantly about Trump and convinced half the population that he worked with Putin to overthrow democracy.

I for one dont cringe every morning opening the news to see what the 75 year old narcistic speed freak that holds the nuclear brief case did while I was sleeping.
The first question I'd asked myself all of those mornings " what fresh hell"
