He set the GOP on a more NatPop course, that's what is so great about him and also the reason I would prefer someone else now. Guys like Hawley, Cotton, and Desantis are on the same track and better able to get more accomplished in my opinion. They're just better politicians, better at speaking without constantly pissing off half the country, have better contacts and staffs. That's where Trump's biggest weakness was, he just didn't have enough people he could trust around him and ended up getting bad advice on some of his picks. That's one of the downsides of being an outsider that doesn't really have the support of the party, your rolodex is thin.
Out of curiosity, how did he actually do this other than saying that he was doing it? For as much as his supporters like to claim he is ushering in a new age of populism, I saw an Administration that governed in much the same way as all previous Republican (and if I’m being honest, Democrat) Admins did. Wealthy bankers and Establishment Republicans littered the cabinet. We murdered people in the Middle East via drone strikes and sold weapons to people at the same rate. We lowered taxes on the wealthy and promoted big business. We have only the smallest handful of new members of Congress that are remarkably different than those that came before and we ended the cycle with McConnell, Schumer and Pelosi still calling most of the shots.
