She's more deserving than some who have been awarded it. She's possibly the greatest gymnast of all time.

That being said, I find the award itself a little silly. Also I think too much focus is put on athletes and celebrities with these. If you have to have them at all, focus on people who made life for their fellow man better. Humanitarians, scientists like Jonas Salk who saved countless lives, etc.

I'd settle for not giving it to people who quit on their country, or people who don't constantly complain about their country (Rapinoe)
 
I could care less about that dumb award. There are likely hundreds of thousands of people not famous who deserved it more though

Ahh welcome to a more free state. I've gotten used to this no state tax life so looking at our next place to build in TN or FL.

My wife who was a life time NJ, DC, Philly, and NY resident told me that she will never live in a blue state again.

Thanks. Austin is nice and its much much much easier to live here (less traffic, no homeless, etc.). I loved California and I’m hopeful it can be better, but the homeless problem is makes living there untenable.

Long term we would like to end up back in Utah. The weather here sucks.
