Via the WSJ:
Mr. Biden and fellow Democrats simply refuse to understand the economic consequences of their assault on American fossil fuels. They have come to believe that climate is a crisis and that banishing oil and gas is urgent. But that means higher prices, which they now blame on the very companies they want to go out of business.
—————
It’s incoherence. They want it both ways, but can’t have it.
I mean, the climate crisis is real.
The idea was to transition gradually as a country. But the oil companies are playing hardball and drawing their line on their own 20 yard line while Biden is still at midfield.
Don't think any reasonable person said let's cut all fossil fuels tomorrow.
Saudis and oil companies are just basically doing the "do you miss and appreciate me yet?" charade.
It's sad that we built a lot of our country's infrastructure taking orders from oil and auto industry. Read about Los Angeles, and how a beautiful rail system that was planned and designed decades ago was scrapped when big auto and oil bought up the land and prevented the investment of public transit.
Atlanta is basically digging itself into a bigger corner. Traffic is probably worst in the country. So the solution to instead of expand public transit like MARTA, is to build more lanes, which once they're done (they can't keep up with current demand), they'll just be clogged again within a few months. And construction in Atlanta is never done.
Traffic bad? ok cool. let's put even MORE cars on the road.
At least Seattle is building rail stations, even in the nice white suburbs that will connect the major areas of the metro. Seattle is in a worse position with their traffic due to being landlocked by water, and already crammed and tight.
Americans keep wondering why traffic jams are getting worse. Population expands, more cars on the road, not enough public transit and proper city planning to promote urban lifestyle. All this does is increase demand for gasoline even more.
