Bard and ChatGPT are pretty similar, although Bard has had more recent data fed into it.
I think Bard is slightly better on literary subjects. I tested both on some novels and poems I like. Google has a stronger AI team so I expect Bard to eventually end up at the top of heap. Disclosure: my daughter is a scientist for Goggle's AI subsidiary. Not currently working on Bard/generative AI, but she seems to think it is in her future.
