The problem is your side isn't nominating candidates who support free speech either. If I had to choose between a side that wants to censor what they consider medical disinformation or the side that wants to censor people who are critical of their leader I would choose the first every time. Government has given itself near unlimited authority for public health and national security issues. I would love for either major party to run on removing that.

You mean like trying to censor late night TV hosts? The President can ask WhatsApp to censor something just like Trump can ask ABC to censor Jimmy Kimmel. You can consider it unethical but it isn't illegal to ask. If whatapp or ABC says hell no and the WH retaliated then there's a legal issue.
