Putin staged terrorist attacks and blamed it on Chechnyan rebels as an excuse to consolidate power then waged war on Chechnya. But I guess it was provoked because he was seen as temporary figurehead and if everyone just supported him being dictator he wouldnt have done it.

This is a bit misleading from what I have read. It was a part of Bidens infrastructure bill and it mandates that 3 years after passing, so 2026, that all new vehicles have to have something that detects impairment by the driver. I dont think that tech even exists so how that works I dont know. I would be shocked if its ready to go in 2026. I dont know how anything could differentiate between impaired driving and purposeful bad driving. Given the governments track record I think its fair to assume it will be handled in the most incompetent way possible. That said I have no problem shutting down bad drivers if it means people are judged on their actual driving and we dont just judge impairment based on stereotypes like being stoned makes you a bad driver. Our traffic laws so overly compensate for bad drivers when we should just not let bad drivers drive instead of ****ing over everyone else. I dont need to drive 20 mph near schools to ensure I dont run over kids. Honestly I am more likely to run over a kid at 20 mph because I will be so bored taking 5 minutes to drive 1 mile that I will be more likely to do something else that distracts me. They will probably just tack this on to the already overcompensated traffic laws so I am really getting my hopes up for nothing. When they do come out with this the new car sales are going to nosedive. It probably wont be an issue for me until 2050.
 
Driving needs to be a right that can only be taken away with good cause. Its not feasible for most people to live without personal transportation. When its considered a privelage they can do what you are talking about.
