The Bowman Shrine

His writing is terrible but I prefer his content to DOB. Anyone see where Bowman said the Braves were considering starting Swanson and Albies at the same level and alternating them between positions?

Completely agree. Bowman's writing at least shows he's way more connected than DOB, even if the writing sucks sometimes. DOB may as well write for SB Nation or something. He just regurgitates things everyone already knows.

Bowman dropped four "reason to"s in his most recent article about roster decisions. That has to be a record, even for him.

I really, really, really hope that Bowman is actually a master troll and not just a crummy writer. Mark Bowman, Lord of the Internet would be the most unexpectedly awesome development since acquiring Swanson.

On Gant making the team in the bullpen

The 23-year-old right-hander surrendered four earned runs over 15 innings and provided the Braves reason to believe he could be effective as a long reliever or a potential middle-inning option. Gant

Nor do we know what would have happened had Gonzalez utilized Kelly Johnson as a pinch-hitter in the top of the eighth or used his closer Arodys Vizcaino to face Bryce Harper in the bottom of the eighth.

But there was certainly reason to question each of these decisions."

...

"After the Braves lost Sunday's game to the Cardinals, there was reason to wonder whether Gonzalez should have brought Vizcaino in to protect a one-run lead after Jim Johnson put two on with two out in the eighth inning."

There is certainly reason to believe that Fredi gave Bowman plenty of reasons to question his decisions last night.

There is no question that Fredi's supply of odd decisions certainly satisfies the demand for speculation.
