The Braves Have A Game Today

With Newk and Touki in the pen I am very happy with JT giving everything he has for 5 innings and then turning it over. I would like to see an opener experiment with him. Especially if we get Kimbrel and minter comes back effective.
 
Is it too soon to point out that I’m undefeated making GDTs this year?

And, for the record, I was responsible for the Braves only playoff win last year.

I think one of the parts of the new Julion is that he doesn't give in. So he's going to have more walks than he should, but the flip side is less hits. And, perhaps, less costly hits. We saw it in the fifth inning today. He's done a nice job of damage control for the last month.
 
Ssuper early Riley UZR numbers

LF: -0.7 UZR which would translate to a -7.0 in 150 games.

Not all that unexpected for someone who's never played LF before.


Overall the team's defense is taking a huge dump though.

-6.1 UZR and 22nd in baseball.

defense was so good last year..has made a difference so far this year. what can be done to sure it up?

Fangraphs has Swanson's def value at -1.0. The improved hitting is great, but no excuse for the defense to be falling off.

It's certainly a give and take with Riley in LF. Gives you offense but defense is taken away when he's in LF. Need his bat in the lineup. His best spot is probably 3B but for the team right now, LF is his spot.

Interested to see what happens this winter. Riley is probably moved to 3B to replace JD, and Acuna is the only real lock for the outfield. Ender would be a fine 4th outfielder but would he be okay with that role. Nick's option at 6 mil is a lock to pickup. Ozuna and Puig are the only decent FA outfielders that intrigue me but both would probably require a 4-5 year deal.
