The Coronavirus, not the beer

Most of the employees at my job are now out with covid. Asshole coworker who tested positive left their drink next to mine the day prior and I accidentally drank from it. Soooooo trying to find a free testing place in the morning. Still no ragrets even if worst case scenario. Freedom isnt the ability to only make government approved good choices. The virus wont kill me, I am going to live long enough to see marijuana federally legalized so I can quit once its legal just to spite them.

I understand why the COVID fanatics want to ignore Israel. Once the full analysis comes out nobody will be pushing for vaccination of healthy people.

Also important to remember that previously exposed patients are from since the pandemic started and the vaccinated patients are from earlier this year.

Weird how the vaccine can't prevent Delta and the rationale is that it was designed for the alpha/beta strain and yet natural immunity is doing a great job preventing Delta.

Open your eyes people.

No power yet (mayor of my town put out a notification last night it would restored by end of day today). I'm at Starbucks getting some work done. Oh and the basement has a lot of water. Sump pump got a workout but then when power went out obviously the water started accumulating. How about you.

I did have an adventure yesterday. I was walking around taking pictures of the flooding in town. I noticed two dazed looking men wandering around. They asked me how to get to Brooklyn. I pointed to the train station. They said the trains weren't working. They had been driving home from a job catering for a wedding when they got caught by the storm and their car stalled on the highway near my town. They slept in their car before a tow truck finally got to them. One of them seemed like he had been crying. So I said ok I'll drive you to Brooklyn. That was my mitzvah for this decade. One a decade.

Good on you. Can't pretend I'd do the same but maybe when I'm at your stage in life I'll be a bit more thoughtful.
 
Pretty crazy the same storm hit me, and although we got a lot of rain, no real flooding. Oh, and we're only 3-3.5 hours from nola/miss gulf coast.

The rain was intense. I've been in storms where it rained like that for maybe 10 minutes. But this lasted at the same intensity for at least four hours. The remnants of Ida were supercharged on Wednesday when it merged with a cold front coming from the west. A lot of these freakish weather events happen when two systems merge like that.

Every Wednesday our elementary school is going to do randomize covid testing.

1 Teacher and 9 students popped positive but all seemed asymptomatic and were at school.

Anecdotal for sure, but I think lots of folks are getting this and not even acknowledging they have anything.

A lot of those nor'easters have the same dynamics as a tropical system heading up that way. Deepening Atlantic low approaches the coast while a cold front approaches from the west... bringing all sorts of mess. Front eventually kicks the low out to sea.

Fwiw, they are paying 1000 bonus, for 4 week commitment for one extra shift a week. Plus OT, plus night/weekend pay, plus 30 a hour
