The left is terrified.

They know if any reasonable election reform measures are implemented millions upon millions of votes will disappear instantaneously.

I expected to see Florida at the top of the list, just from what news headlines I've seen lately.

Florida is middle of the pack in vaccination rate. Which itself doesn't tell the whole story because Florida has an age distribution that is different from most states.

And of course Florida gets tons of tourists bringing their germs from all over, which would skew cases and deaths higher whatever the vaccination rate.

Finally, air conditioner season is when cases tend to be highest. Whereas in the colder parts of the country cases tend to peak in the winter.

Florida was leading the country in hospitalizations per capita for most of August, but that has been coming down for a couple weeks now.

They are on track to pass NY up for total covid deaths in a few weeks. I don't know whether to call that a strong finishing kick. Some have said the battle against covid is a marathon not a sprint. But a finishing kick is a thing among marathoners as well.

It is a remarkable thing. NY blitzed early by an epidemic with little knowledge about what was hitting it, plus the population density of NY city. No vaccines. And yet with all the advantages of time and information and experience and vaccines and better treatments, Florida is going to be surpassing NY soon.
