The Coronavirus, not the beer

In ancient Athens contributing to politics and society in general was considered the norm and highly desirable. Being apolitical and selfish was frowned upon and all citizens aspired to be politically active. It was rare for citizens to demonstrate apathy towards what was happening in their state and common issues. The overwhelming majority of Athenians participated in politics to a greater or lesser extent.

Those who did not contribute to politics and the community were known as “Idiotes” (ΙΔΙΩΤΕΣ), originating from the word “Idios” (ΙΔΙΟΣ) which means the self. If you did not demonstrate social responsibility and political awareness you were considered apathetic, uneducated and ignorant. The word was transferred to latin as “idiota” and was used to describe an uneducated, ignorant, inexperienced, common person.

No Man is an Island'
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Olde English Version

Your health isn't my responsibility

I'll keep that in mind. If you ever go to a restaurant they should cook chicken to whatever temperature they like, your health isn't their responsibility. If you go to a doctor they shouldn't sanitize and heck might as well share needles, afterall, it's infringing on their rights to be more efficient at work.

Hell, I shouldn't have to wear a short or pants ever, the fact that I can't walk around nude everywhere infringes on my rights.

I leave yall with a baseball/statistics riddle that might have some relevance to this thread.

During the past three seasons, player A has had a higher batting average than player B each season.

However player B has a higher average than player A for all three seasons combined.

How can that be?

All depends on weighting.

I really don't believe that without the Idiot in Chief setting the example, American would be behaving this stupidly.
