The Coronavirus, not the beer

Yet another study showing no improvement using HCQ, what do you know?

"Among patients hospitalized with mild-to-moderate Covid-19, the use of hydroxychloroquine, alone or with azithromycin, did not improve clinical status at 15 days as compared with standard care. (Funded by the Coalition Covid-19 Brazil and EMS Pharma; ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04322123. opens in new tab.)"

But hey, I'm sure because it doesn't support thethe's claims then he will just throw it out.

Its so weird to me how you all are actively rooting against a therapy simply by Trump pushed it

I'm not rooting against it, there's just no clear evidence that it actually helps the situation at all. I am all on the HCQ train if we can prove its actually a good treatment, but that proof in the studies just isn't there yet. I'm not in this for the sole purpose of politics like you and thethe. I want the actual best treatments supported by sufficient research. HCQ is far from there... maybe it will be one day... I am rooting for it. But the only reason so far that you guys are so gung ho is simply because of a couple anecdotal studies and Trump's "good feeling." Should we just ignore the fact that there are several more studies that cast significant doubt on its usefulness? And even the authors of the positive studies warn that their studies don't conclude anything. That's simply not enough for me to just blindly go with it. That's not enough reason for any real scientific organization to just blindly go with it either. More research is obviously needed, no matter how bad you guys try and cherry pick things. Its pathetic how political you are making everything in this battle.

Also funny that no one mentioned Trump except for you. I'm actually talking about the studies and the treatment. You're the ones who can't get blind partisan politics out of your posts.

I guess these Brazilian researchers are also trying to cook the books and manipulate the data just to get back at Trump. The whole world is in on a crazy weird conspiracy just to get Trump. Our noble pussy grabber.

Figured that was about all you could say.

I'm extremely confident you do not want HCQ to be successful.

In the positive studies in this thread, you've never once posted an optimistic take.

You seek put the ones that fit your narrative.

Its weird.

But TDS is real. I get it

Because blindly supporting a treatment that has no definitive benefit is even weirder.

youll just never get it.

Part of HCQ effectiveness is when its administered. Having a study where the recipient could be confirmed positive for up to 14 days is irrelevant.

Stop embarassing yourself.

Its literally the same point we go over each time. Its the whole point of the drug combo and why it works.

And there's literally no conclusive evidence that it does. Even the positive study authors admit this. You can't because you're a political hack.

Dr. Fauci was a huge fan of HCQ for treating coronaviruses in the past.

There is probably something to it. Maybe not. But it seems to be effective in many cases

Well, that's great but all coronaviruses are different and the all the study results regarding COVID-19 are a mixed bag with no conclusions yet. There are far more negative than positive studies and all the authors of the positive studies also warn caution that their studies aren't conclusive. But hey... Trump "has a feeling." Antibodies are only produced for a few months with some coronaviruses... yet you guys are all sold out on herd immunity which may not even be achievable. Yet one like SARS keep antibodies around for ~10 years or so. So you can't just lump all coronaviruses into the same stack.

It might make a difference. It might not. A lot of doctors have taken the kitchen sink approach and tried it along with everything else they can think of.

What it is not is a game changer. It is not OBVIOUSLY making a difference. And the large trials and sophisticated statistical analysis that goes with those trials have not extracted a signal that it makes a difference. But some of the smaller, less rigorous studies have shown some positive results. Anyone making large claims should be viewed with skepticism.

I think even remdesivir is making only a modest difference, and it has its skeptics as well. Steroids are making a modest difference. There has been an improved understanding of when to use and when not to use ventilators. Same with anticoagulants.
