The Coronavirus, not the beer

France reported 298 deaths today. This is 4.6 per million. 4.6 per million is 1,518 in the US. Been august 11st since we hit 1,500 mark.

I'm genuinely curious if the mask obsessed posters here believe that France just all of a sudden stopped wearing them?

I've only ever gotten to know one person in my life from the Dakotas. She was above average in friendliness.

I think we should have a FAR rating for our neighbors. Friendliness Above Replacement.

I've also only had one friend from Idaho. Way above average in friendliness. Like MVP caliber.

Maybe that's why they don't mask up. It conflicts with their commitment to be the friendliest person they can be.

Bold prediction time. Starting January 22nd the Trump tards here will be claiming they were promised Coronavirus would be gone instantly when Biden takes over. Who am I kidding, thats not a bold prediction and they will do it anyways despite being called out on it months in advance.

I recommend this thread for you

[Tw]1319719862055374850[/tw]

actually i think this is a valid point

the graph is a snapshot in time (sort of like Sweden in September)

it is based on a survey for October 19

I don't know if the people who did the survey play to do additional survey. I hope they will.

even if they don't do the survey we can continue to track data such as those on hospitalizations

I put these up yesterday on the red state/blue state thread (and plan to update periodically)

currently hospitalized for covid per 100,000 population

Top 10
South Dakota 41
Montana 34
Arkansas 24
Mississippi 24
Oklahoma 23
Indiana 23
Missouri 22
Nebraska 21
Wisconsin 21
North Dakota 21

Bottom 10
Vermont 0
Maine 1
New Hampshire 1
Washington 4
Oregon 4
New York 5
Alaska 6
Connecticut 6
Massachusetts 8
Maryland 8
California 8
Pennsylvania 8

it does seem like the sheeple states have generally had better outcomes since April, but maybe that will change

Lol please don't post a Facebook poll as some sort of scientific study

yes lockdowns do tend to delay spread.

But since we get to ignore April I suppose Sweden is the world's great performance

oh i didn't read carefully, the objection is the data gathering using FB

well i'm not so sure that's problematic

the criticism that I thought was being made was something I myself had thought about...which is that the researchers are not blind...they picked a moment in time when perhaps they had reason to believe the data would confirm their beliefs.

what i would be interested in seeing is following this up with additional similar surveys...maybe once a month

in part because behavior changes...my guess is mask wearing is going up in places like the dakotas and idaho...it would be interesting to come back and see what has changed and what remains the same two months from now
