The Coronavirus, not the beer

What was the date where they stopped counting covid reinfections as multiple events?

I feel like early this year they stopped counting when someone got covid again?

So what are the best methods for increasing vaccination? Education and the incentives of the market have encouraged many Americans to get themselves and their children immunized, and surely those avenues of persuasion can and should be used more. Perhaps schools and daycare centers and pediatric clinics could attract clients by advertising their refusal to admit unvaccinated kids. Or social pressure might be exercised by parents who insist on assurances from other parents that their children are vaccinated before agreeing to playdates.

But it would be naive not to acknowledge the central role of government mandates in spreading immunization. By requiring that children entering school be vaccinated against many highly contagious diseases, states have greatly benefited the vast majority of Americans.

Wo. Didn't realize that Reason contained such tyrannical content! Such a bunch of commies.

I don't know if radicalized is the right word. I decline is a better word for it. It is sad to see how much decline there has been in right wing thinking. Conservative thought leaders once had such constructive and well argued contributions to make to public discourse. Our republic is greatly impoverished by this decline.

Are there any reason articles on vaccine passports where on needs to show their papers in order to be among the clean?

See quote in Reason above about vaccination mandates. Every schoolchild has to present a record of their shots to attend a public school. Since when has this been viewed as an unreasonable intrusion.

Same requirements have existed to work at hospitals and in the military. For many years.

The above quote does not address my question

You're advocating for mandatory vaccines in order to participate in society, like flights, hotels, and stores. Those are not public entities.

Additionally - as I THINK you know (but you have become dumber than 57 so hard to tell)... this virus poses no threat to children and mandating the vaccine on them is needless.

I know you are a big fan of running up deficits that children with not vote must pay for in the future. You are also obviously willing to force a mask and a medicine in their arms if it makes you feel safer.

This whole pandemic has shown us how many authoritarian wannabe losers walk among us

I've said the best thing is to incentivize using cold hard cash. But if a cruise line or a commercial airline wanted to mandate such a thing in the midst of an epidemic that seems fairly reasonable to me.

Reason noted 1) education, 2) incentives of the market, 3)social pressure and 4) government mandates as options in the pursuit of a high vaccination rate. Sounds positively tyrannical!

By the way does anyone object to the government mandate that parents make provisions to provide some kind of schooling to their children. Seems kinda big brotherish to me. They didn't do that in the good old days. Nowadays you get a knock on your door from a stranger if you dont seem to be educating your children.

of course crowded hospitals that have to turn away people from getting the care they need would be another example of a negative externality generated by people failing to take measures to mitigate the spread of covid

Most schools already have rules on skirt lengths, shoulder, neckline, midriff exposure and more. Let’s be real, requiring kids to cover their nose and mouth in a pandemic isn’t a “freedom” issue.

Even worse is the whole objection to a vaccine mandate (for eligible age groups) by school districts and universities and the military.. You're right. There is an unreality about all this. We're not in Kansas anymore.
