Having a plan is one thing, providing public pressure to do so is not. We cannot become so concerned with the Economic impact that we loosen the safety protocols until we know it’s prudent to do so.

We should avoid killing the economy. The social dislocation, hardship and yes loss of life from that would be terrible. The choices are very tough and should be acknowledged as such.
If you talk to old people, and I'm shading that way myself, many will express concern about the costs young people are being saddled with largely for the benefit of the old and infirm. Sorry to put it so starkly.
