The Coronavirus, not the beer

I'm mostly annoyed that hospitals are classifying ANY death from a patient who has tested positive for covid, as a covid-caused death.

That's bull ****.

Now they are talking about testing dead people to see if they had covid.

They are intentionally inflating the numbers here.

This is so obvious. If you think hard enough you can see what's really happening behind the scenes.

My lady who is a doctor currently in Ney York tells me that after Trump promised reimbursement for covid cases, that hospitals will do everything they can to spike those numbers.

This makes a lot of sense.

Overstated numerator
Drastic understated denominator

It was literally the social justice leftist morons that destroyed everything. How are you so stupid when you leave the world of baseball stats?

I used to think software engineers were brilliant until I started managing a team of 8 of them.

Now I realize how little they know about just about everything.

So what you are saying is i was right? The virus was more contagious than what was previously thought. Once you updated that assumption it was obvious this was less deadly than what was reported.

It's highly unlikely at this point that upwards of 8 million people have or have already had the virus. So no.

How scientists are responding around the world.

On a recent morning, for example, scientists at the University of Pittsburgh discovered that a ferret exposed to Covid-19 particles had developed a high fever — a potential advance toward animal vaccine testing. Under ordinary circumstances, they would have started work on an academic journal article.

“But you know what? There is going to be plenty of time to get papers published,” said Paul Duprex, a virologist leading the university’s vaccine research. Within two hours, he said, he had shared the findings with scientists around the world on a World Health Organization conference call. “It is pretty cool, right? You cut the crap, for lack of a better word, and you get to be part of a global enterprise.”

ferrets...remember that word...they have immune systems that are weirdly similar to humans

I love that the 2 usual suspects are somehow upset about how we are classifying covid deaths

They are being called covid deaths cause if they didn’t get covid

They would still be a live with their other issue that make them susceptible if they didn’t have covid

This is false. Try harder.

The 'experts' were telling us we were 7 days till peak. This was as recent as yesterday.

What the **** is wrong with these people?

I think NY peaks this week but other states will follow in coming weeks. Still, NY will be the worst of the hotspots by far. It is a shame they were so highly encouraged to congregate in defiance of racism

Enough people around the world change their behavior to prevent the spread. We have treatment. We have capacity.

This is very manageable know that we know its significantly less harmful than thought.

The fast-spreading novel coronavirus is almost certainly killing Americans who are not included in the nation’s growing death toll, according to public health experts and government officials involved in the tally.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention counts only deaths in which the presence of the coronavirus is confirmed in a laboratory test. “We know that it is an underestimation,” agency spokeswoman Kristen Nordlund said.

I've provided some links earlier this week showing how Italy and Spain are undercounting.

At the end of the day, countries and regions will do some crosschecking by looking at their mortality data relative to recent years and be able to estimate the numbers better.
