Jacobson v. Massachusetts literally provides legal precedent for this to happen. The Supreme Court ruled that individual liberty must be subordinated to the welfare of the general public, as well as the collective good of the nation. Thus liberty, in relation to public health, may be subordinate to the power of the state.

The US constitution isn't suspended bc a governor says so.

These actions wouldnt hold up in a SC ruling (see the Kentucky governor order about forcing church goers into quarantine)

Think about how easy it would be for a tyrannical government to take control if all they needed to justify was you being scared

What part of the SC ruling did you not understand? State of Emergencies absolutely allow for some rights to be suspended.

And this crisis isn't anything new as far as that is concerned. So forgive me if I am not chicken littling about "OUR RITES!!!" and the "Tuh-ranical guvment!!"

Fair point. They will also disappear when suicides/drug abuse/child abuse/spousal abuse skyrocket.

All because they blindly followed a terribly wrong model. Too stupid to think for themselves.
