Test and trace is worthless

Just another measure to keep us closed with irrational fears.

These prevalence estimates represent a range between 48,000 and 81,000 people infected in Santa Clara County by early April, 50-85-fold more than the number of confirmed cases. Conclusions The population prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in Santa Clara County implies that the infection is much more widespread than indicated by the number of confirmed cases. Population prevalence estimates can now be used to calibrate epidemic and mortality projections.

More and more of these studies will come out and this thread will dissapear.

Did you read this? Prevalence estimate of 2.5-4.2%.

Oh I read it. Its very clear when they gave what that means in terms of total population compared to reported cases.

Ive said repeatedly that some areas of the nation will have 5% prevalanece while others like NYC could be in upwards of 50-60%.

I don't see a blue check mark.

Can't be trusted. Only Berenson allowed here.

Beginning of the end for this thread. The next issue you'll all yell right wing nut conspiracy again only to be proved wrong.

Some of you I believe were genuine in your concern (Meta). Others, well I fear there were other motives involved.

Denmark has reopened elementary schools.

Cases in the past week: 1,257

Cases in the prior week: 2,068

Situation in Sweden:

Cases in the past week: 3,159

Cases in the prior week: 3,581

New cases have fallen 39% (week over week) in Denmark and 12% in Sweden.

Assuming that this is not an artifact of changes in the testing regimen, it would appear that Denmark has had markedly more success in reducing R naught.

If your hospitals are not overwhelmed then this is irrelevant We dont have a vaccine and its a super contagious virus. At some point everyone is going to get the virus but luckily its not nearly as deadly as previously thought.

Just as cases are starting to plateau in some big cities and along the coasts, the coronavirus is catching fire in rural states across the American heartland, where there has been a small but significant spike this week in cases. Playing out amid these outbreaks is a clash between a frontier culture that values individual freedom and personal responsibility, and the onerous but necessary restrictions to contain a novel biological threat.

The bump in coronavirus cases is most pronounced in states without stay at home orders. Oklahoma saw a 53% increase in cases over the past week, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. Over same time, cases jumped 60% in Arkansas, 74% in Nebraska, and 82% in Iowa. South Dakota saw a whopping 205% spike.

The remaining states, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming each saw an increase in cases, but more in line with other places that have stay-at-home orders. And all of those numbers may very well undercount the total cases, given a persistent lack of testing across the US.
