The Coronavirus, not the beer

Oh I forgot, his big thing the last few days is nobody told him how bad this would get, so he's upset at everyone who didn't warn him.

Cuomo's Presser today was yuge.

Really really ripped into POTUS' ego fragility.

"What do you want me to send a bouquet [of flowers]?"

"Thank you for the minimum participation required to do your job."

"If he's watching this on TV maybe he should get up and do his job"

"How many times do you want me to say thank you? I'm saying thank you for doing your JOB. Thank you for participating in a modicum of federal responsibility in a national crisis. "

Trump performed horribly in Jan/Feb.

Trump did well in March. Good federal response that didn’t trample on state and local governments.

Trump has been a joke in April. He takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back every single day. It feels like we have made zero progress this month in terms of policy and formulating an economic recover the plan.

I wish he would just get out of Pence’s way and let his team handle things from here on out. I think Pence has been mostly impressive.

I'm surprised you even said he takes one step forward.

Oklahoma and South Dakota each saw a 60% and 200% increase in cases in the past week.

Both have no shelter at home orders.

Imagine a world where Trump was actually impeached and Pence was President. He probably could have done a decent enough job to actually use the Rally Around the Flag effect. Instead of immediately blowing it like Trump.

think how depressing these days are from lack of leadership for all of us to wish for this

Again, what do you expect to happen when the shelter in place order is lifted?

Or maybe I should ask, how long do you want SIP to be happening? The virus doesn't magically stop existing if we hide behind our walls.

a sitting president trying to encourage his cult to violence in states that have rejected his and your ways in recent elections

sad day for democracy

why do republicans hate democracy?

That's an easy one. They lose bigly on a fair playing field and it's getting worse all the time.

Some men are worse than children.

I looked at the actual paper. Looks like the real positive rate was 1.5% which they adjust up which is theoretically fine, except...

With a test that has specificity confidence interval of (98.3-99.9%), wouldn't you expect ~.1-1.7% false positives? Is this outcome even statistically significant? Would love for them to be right, but this data seems... not amazing. Kind of bumping up against the limits of my stat comfort zone, though so who knows. If it makes it through peer review, somebody who understands this stuff better than me will have signed off on it, at least.
