The Coronavirus, not the beer

A friendly reminder that the government could ban all driving and close all roads and save 35,000 lives per year.

If COVID was only going to kill 35k thousand this year, you might have a point. To date, it has killed 70k in 2 months. If that same rate were to hold (not saying it would), we'd be looking at 420k deaths. Surely even you can understand the difference in 35k and 420k.

Also, we have do have laws in regards to driving that limit yer' rights that are based on safety. Imagine that. It seems you have justified this entire endeavor. Bravo.

And yet... were fine with tens of thousands of deaths per year by allowing it.

Monsters!

Everyone except you understands that there is ultimately some cost benefit analysis that must happen re: public health and the economy/basic societal functioning. That's why the subways stayed open in NYC for example; closing them would of course have slowed transmission, but the city would have collapsed without it, including the hospital infrastructure.

You on the other hand believe public health is irrelevant, and all that matters is if your rights are infringed. Because you literally see ever issue as black/white and are incapable of nuance.

So you're ok with thousands of deaths then.

Monster

Friendly reminder that your mayor banned protesting

He'll should probably lose that case where the people were socially distanced; not a narrowly tailored order. Thank god we have rule of law to sort out these hard questions.

You will still be ranting about imaginary tyranny when the issue is resolved.

I promise you public health is not being served when the entire country is locked up on their homes. There are no doctor appointments or elective surgeries. Alcoholism and drug abuse sky rocketing. Low income workers are getting decimated.

Oh yeah, and muh rights are important to me too. Sorry that that annoys you that I'm not eager to give up all liberty because some people are scared.

We've gone from flatten the curve to... I dunno? Georgia's has reopened up for two weeks and there doesnt seem to be any noticable spike in problems. Texas too. At some point we have to accept some risk and those are scared can stay in their homes.

Yeah, exactly. You don't care about the public health problems because you don't believe they are real. Because it makes you feel smart to tell yourself everyone else is dumb, while you, the enlightened libertarian, see through to what's really going on. Classic libertarian magical thinking based on feelings rather than reality.

Yeah, keep counting those chickens, buddy.

I posted in this thread a study projecting 75,000 despair deaths from suicide, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, etc.

Results of not being truthful.

Blended IFR means next to nothing but needs to be discussed because its pushed down our throats.

Those 3 things spread over I take it a year are was well manageable

Suicide: Gun regulation
Achohol Abuse: Mental health counseling and care M$A
Drug Abuse: Draconian drug laws - mental health and care as well.

Are you now a proponent of gun regulation and M4A ?

Talking out of both side of your mouth
Again

No one disputes those things will go up. The fact that you think that number is even close to what we are trying to avoid is why you are embracing magical thinking.

Also you and thethe post a bunch of links to lots of garbage in this thread. I completely ignore anything he posts at this point, and I am increasingly reading less of what you link. If there is gold hidden in between all the twitter trolls you keep ****posting, it is your fault for hiding it from us.

Don't give me counter information. I will stand by being wrong the whole time.

Its the same story as collusion.

Shocking the mental blocks you guys have. Keep enjoying holding onto wrong theories and look embarrassingly stupid when they are throughly debunked.
