It was more of a criticism of public health officials (and governors) who have done very little to emphasize the public health implications of virus spread in response to the protests.

Fauci was basically the only one that threaded that needle appropriately.

I support the protests. I just want our leadership to be more transparent about the risks.

I saw an interesting stat today that something like 40% (my recollection) of black-owned businesses have 2 weeks or less of cash on hand. The percentage of white-owned businesses in that situation is much smaller. And I imagine many immigrant-owned businesses also operate on a small margin. So it is not surprising.

Similar disparities exist with respect to being able to work from home, or stay home if sick with an infectious disease. Or having health insurance. One of the reasons more minority people are getting sick and dying is that they don't have the luxury of quarantining in a room of their own with its own bathroom. So they infect more members of their household, including the old and those with pre-existing conditions.

Majority of inequalities in our society is economically driven. All this other stuff isnan excuse and flamed by those who have failed minorities for decades.

It is a very complicated problem. Can't be reduced to economics. There is the police/criminal justice element. There are cultural elements (violence within the black community and high rates of single parent households). There are the schools. There is general racism. Eating habits/nutrition. And a multitude of other things.

The black community has only had escalation in this the past 40-50 years. Youre telling me therr was less institutional racism then?

Government should stop incentivising single mother homes and make more attractive full time positions for black men. That could be accomplished by cutting low skill immigration for starters and as a couple fo generations cycle each new generation will achieve new heights.

“Economics” is both an input and an output. It’s very nebulous term. Similar to saying we can solve mental health issues by addressing “happiness”.

This is fair. Money can't bring happiness but it can deter misery.

The figures that nsacpi referenced have deteriorated since the 50s. Nobofy wants to claim we are more racist now then at that time right?

So if we progressed in that area then why has a majority of the black community regressed?

Has the black community regressed? I think the argument is that black’s have not progressed at the same rate as white’s across different categories.

Education/Lireracy/Stable homes have all regressed by a significant margin from the 50s.
 
Only data I can find on education rates shows the opposite for what I said above. Let the record show i was wrong.
