and while we all celebrate the decline of the death rate, there is still this.
This is what the above 33,000 + are looking at .
We still dont know the long term effects.

Not to get all political and all but ...
Some handled this well and others --- not so well

I called it....long term effects is the next panic crowd narrative.

You all are way too predictable.

Going to be an amazing pivot when the death numbers remain low.

No idea if people are actually worried about this or not, but seems so unhealthy. Worrying about getting a virus, and then worrying about long term effects if they do get it. I won't live my life like that. I wear a mask when asked to wear a mask (sometimes even when I'm not asked), but I'm not gonna cower in fear. This is my 3rd weekend in a row to go out of town and enjoy these cheap hotels. Life is short, and while covid may shorten it even more, I will enjoy living not worrying about what might happen.

Another couple in our congregation were exposed by a loving son who came to visit and didn't know he had it. Got sick while staying with them.

Learned this week when I went to the dentist, that my dental hygienist's husband died in April, three weeks after contracting it. He was probably a few years older than me.

A good friend survived, battled through a 3 weeks in ICU. Soon after getting out of ICU, he has a stroke. Still alive but has a long road ahead, and likely never back to where he was before catching it while flying to where his mom died in order to handle the funeral arrangements.

Family I know, father, mother, 3 kids -- all got it and battled off and on at home for a month.

I could go on. The count of those I know who have contracted CoVId-19 is now over 30. Two have died thus far. Two, at least, will never be the same.

Whatever your view of how best to handle this, please don't be an ass and deny it is real.

I know 4 that have contracted it. 3 had very minor symptoms, and 1 died. All were 35-45 and in good health. The death was a Choctaw Indian... it's hitting them extremely hard.

It's still a mystery to me why the virus has been so transmittable in the U.S.

Is it an unhealthy population, an inefficient health care system, poor leadership, complacent people or a combination?

We haven't had an official new case in Hiroshima prefecture in weeks, but 95% of people still wear masks and everyone is social distancing. People are quiet in public and when you do hear chatting it's usually outside. I think it matters.

That's the thing. It was pretty safe for children to visit their fathers on Father's Day in most countries last weekend. Not so safe (if the fathers were above 60) in large parts of this country. The people in those countries are not more virtuous than we are. But there was more clarity and unity of purpose in those countries.

I only know of one person who I would say is really worried about getting the virus, an American woman who just recovered from several bouts cancer a few years ago. It's understandable and I don't blame her a bit. She's probably more scared of the hospital ordeal than the virus itself. I think the great majority of people staying home and wearing masks are doing so out of concern for the collective. By protecting yourself you are protecting others. To characterize mask wearing any other way is simply irresponsible and dumb.
